Information for Students

Important Reminders for All Students

  • You will be required to wear a mask at all times while in the facility.
  • 2 humans, from the same household, per dog may attend Workshops.
  • For further details on our COVID safety protocols please see our COVID Policies page.
  • Please familiarize yourself with our refund and facility policies prior to the Workshop or rental time. By attending the facility, you are agreeing to abide by all policies including the refund policy.
  • Please wait outside until your instructor invites you in before entering your workshop, to avoid anyone running into the previous class as they exit the space.
    • Remember some dogs need extra space.
  • All Workshops take place at 3133 Sumner Ave, Burnaby. 
    • You will enter through the NORTH FLOOR Entrance.
    • This entrance is around the back of the building, which you can see on the map below. 
  • Please ONLY park in our marked “DogWorks” parking stalls.
  • People renting training space or attending a Private training session may check in at the Reception desk a few minutes prior to their booked time.

Loose Leash Walking Workshop Information

PLEASE BRING:

  • a solid leash. (No flexi and bungee leashes please.)
  • LOTS of small, non-crumbly treats.
  • a bed/blanket towel.
  • some chews that will occupy your dog for any down time between exercises. 
    • Some recommendations: bully sticks, kongs stuffed with things and frozen [such as cream cheese/peanut butter/wet food/soaked kibble etc], yak chews, or other similar items!

Reliable Recall Workshop Information

PLEASE BRING:

  • A nylon, rope, or biothane long line (no outdoor tethers, wire lines, or extendable/flexi leashes please)
  • LOTS of small, non-crumbly treats. (We recommend bringing a few different types)
  • A bed, blanket, towel, or crate for your dog to rest on/in during down time.
  • Some chews that will occupy your dog for any down time between exercises. 
    • Some recommendations: bully sticks, kongs stuffed with things and frozen [such as cream cheese/peanut butter/wet food/soaked kibble etc], yak chews, or other similar items!
